I am a passionate, zealous advocate for my clients. With that in mind, I advise clients that whatever counsel they chose to represent them, being comfortable with your attorney is paramount.
A family law attorney for nearly a decade, I strive to provide solutions to meet client's short term and long term goals. It is easy to lose sight of the long term impact of decisions while mired in the difficult transitions that so many family law cases necessitate. I am always willing to spend whatever time is necessary to work with a client to help them feel comfortable and confident about the next steps in their case. Finding oneself in the midst of a family law case, whether by choice or because the other party filed, is emotionally challenging and can be scary. My objective is to create understanding of applicable laws and explain how my client will be impacted.
I have significant experience in all areas of family law: contested and uncontested dissolutions including spousal maintenance and complex property division, child custody, third party custody, child support adjustments and modifications, relocation, and prenuptial agreements.
I became a prosecutor after I graduated from law school which gave me the opportunity to instantly practice in a courtroom. I quickly learned that I enjoy litigating and being in court. I have had the opportunity to handle numerous trials, both as a prosecutor and as a family law attorney.
My litigation experience has highlighted the importance of working towards amicable resolutions whenever possible for clients. I have a passion for being in the courtroom but I have found that pursuing other avenues of resolution for clients can preserve relationships that must be maintained, especially when children are involved. As a result, I went through 40 hours of mediation training as well as collaborative law training in 2014.
It is my role as an attorney to educate clients about the impact of various decisions that have to be made in any case. I work with clients to minimize conflict whenever possible. Family law cases are stressful enough for a client without fueling the conflict between parties. At the end of the day, each client must go on and continue to live their lives. I strive to help clients achieve their goals in positive ways.
