Kathryn Silk is a family law attorney and integrator where she serves as executive manager of marketing, intake, legal operations, legal administration, and events/new business teams at Elise Buie Family Law Group. She has been with the firm since 2016.
An experienced family law practitioner with a passion for empowering her clients to reach informed decisions about their futures, Kathryn's practice focuses on collaborative family law. With her expertise and guidance, Kathryn has assisted her clients in creating parenting plans, negotiating settlements, and guiding her clients to reach considered resolutions.
A skilled litigator should the time or occasion arise, Kathryn is committed to using alternative dispute resolution as a primary means to reach outcomes that promote the wellbeing of the entire family for years after her clients finalize their divorce. Her approach to civil negotiation repairs broken relationships and builds new, stronger ones, instead of tearing them apart.
Philosophy and Background
Kathryn has extensive trial and courtroom experience but understands that the best approach to divorce often requires taking the decision-making power out of the hands of the family court system and a judge and placing it back into the hands of her clients.
Trained in mediation and negotiation and holding a Professional Mediation Skills Training Program certificate from the University of Washington School of Law, Kathryn strives for solutions that work best for all parties involved. She believes strongly in working with her clients to educate them about the legal process and empower them to make the best decisions for their future.
Kathryn holds her B.A. in Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington and her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law.
She is fluent in Spanish.
Role in the Seattle Community
