Attorney
Zoey Salsbury
Zoey Jordan Salsbury is a family law attorney at Elise Buie Family Law. She has focused on prenuptial agreements, supporting domestic violence survivors, and helping parents create unique parenting plans that will best support their children.
Philosophy and Background
While attending law school, Zoey worked with FoodRecovery.org, a nonprofit that helps rescue food that would have become food waste and instead puts it to good use at nonprofits serving the hungry. This work helped Zoey see what our social safety net looks like and informed the compassion she brings to her clients every day.
While in law school, Zoey fell in love with family law and the impact it can make on clients every single day for the rest of their lives. She built on her family law studies by taking classes in Collaborative Law, domestic violence Law, and reproductive justice. She also participated in the family law clinic, where she had the opportunity to work with clients before her graduation.
After graduating and passing the bar, Zoey worked at a small family law firm in Washington. There, she was able to work closely with her clients and hone her skills. She then grew her practice at another national family law firm over the next year. In addition to having a specific interest in representing fellow members of the queer community, Zoey also cares deeply about domestic violence survivors and finds special joy in working on prenuptial agreements.
Zoey holds her B.A. in public relations and strategic communications with a minor in political science and her J.D. from the Seattle University School of Law.
Role in the Seattle Community
In her free time, Zoey can be found knitting and tremendously enjoying playing video games badly. She loves to open water swim, despite her jellyfish allergy, and believes no year starts properly without a polar bear plunge. Zoey’s dog Apollo is a cross between a goldendoodle and a mutt, and the love of her life.
