Attorney
Kallie Ferguson
Kallie Ferguson is a family law attorney with Elise Buie Family Law, where she represents clients across Washington state in divorce, child custody and parenting plan matters, minor guardianship, and domestic violence protection order proceedings.
She believes clients do best when they are informed and empowered to make their own decisions. Kallie listens closely, considers the full picture, and fights hard for what genuinely matters to her clients.
Philosophy and Background
Kallie began as a trial attorney in public defense, which provided the kind of hands-on courtroom experience that doesn’t come from a typical civil practice. She went on to focus on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions with the Washington Defender Association’s Redemption Project of Washington, litigating motions to vacate convictions and advocating for clients facing deportation, work that deepened her understanding of how one system’s outcomes quietly determine the stakes in another. That awareness of power imbalances, fairness, and systemic barriers now shapes how Kallie approaches her current practice, where the parties in a case may start from unequal footing.
Kallie has since built a broad family law practice, handling dissolution, custody, parenting plan modifications, minor guardianship, and domestic violence matters, including negotiating and drafting temporary parenting plans in high-conflict co-parenting situations and both obtaining and defending domestic violence protection orders.
She also spent several years in program and compliance management for global technology organizations, overseeing budgets and complex, cross-functional stakeholder relationships, an experience that sharpened the strategic, big-picture thinking she brings to her practice today.
Kallie holds her B.A. from the University of Washington and her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.
Role in the Seattle Community
True to her Pacific Northwest roots, Kallie enjoys camping, spending time outdoors, and playing board games. She’s an avid reader with a somewhat outrageous personal book collection, and she also enjoys social dancing.
